Challenger Trail

A short 3km return walk in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park that goes through some heath and forest.

I've wanted to walk this trail for a while and today was the day. This is one of the shorter walks in the park. This trail starts from West Head Road.

This is a self-guiding walk with no other trails leading off it. At about 500m you will find a nice rocky outcrop on your left.

At about 1km you will get to another larger rocky outcrop. Stop here and walk out along the ridge (20m) to see some views over the park.

You will finally arrive at the lookout at the end of the trail which looks out over Hawkesbury River. A fine spot for lunch or a snack.

After you have finished soaking up the views, take the same trail back to the start.
